Mocha takes its name from the Yemeni port of Al-Makha, once famous for coffee with chocolate-like notes. The chocolate-and-espresso drink is a much later café creation.
Make it at home

You'll need
- Chocolate
- 15–20 g
- Double espresso
- 36 g
- Steamed milk
- 160–200 g

Mix base
Add chocolate sauce or cocoa to the cup, then pull a double espresso over it and stir smooth.

Steam milk
Steam milk with a light, glossy texture.

Pour
Pour in the milk. Add whipped cream only if you actually want it.
At a café
Ask for dark chocolate or less syrup if you prefer a less sweet cup.
